November 1st 2017:
How is it November already? I know everyone says this, but time is seriously flying. I kept saying, "I'm going to do a blog, I'm going to do a blog" and I blink and it's almost the end of the year. Anyway, rant over, today I am talking about the versatile accessory. If you read my blog about Fall 2017 trends, then you would know that fishnets are big, like really big and I'm loving it. In this look I am wearing this red (burnout) denim skirt. When I saw this skirt, I was like "I have to have it". Denim skirts have been back for a while, but I love that this one is red and not so mini but also not too long. Red is a hot hot hot color for Fall and Spring 2018 as well. I immediately thought that fishnets would look bomb under this skirt. The reason I wanted to do fishnets is because they are so much more trendier and eye catching than regular old plain stockings. Another hot color right now is the mauve, light, rose, pink. I paired this skirt with this beautiful cropped sweater. This sweater is so soft and comfortable and it's right on trend with the sleeves. Every top/sweater is all about the detail in the sleeve and this sweater fits right into that with a tie sleeve. I love how the colors go together, a bit valentine-ish perhaps but I'm feeling Fall. Lastly I added a black shiny leather ankle boot to complete the look. A bit of an edgy look.
Sidenote: I wanted to take a minute to talk about the fishnets because they are such a versatile piece. Sure, you could style them under ANY skirt but there are also a lot of other ways to wear them. You can wear them under a pair of distressed jeans for a more casual look. You could wear them under a dress with a high knee boot for just a peek of fishnet. You could wear them with heels and pants, so it's only a peek on the foot. Anyone can wear this and there are limitless ways to wear them. It's the perfect accessory to take your outfit to the next level.
Also, this entire outfit is from one place. I have been doing that a lot lately. Buying a complete outfit from one place because I always find myself buying pieces from this store, and that store and then not having anything to wear together so I thought I'd give this way of shopping a chance.
