If you're looking for a GOOD read, I got just the book for you! The Millennial's Guide To Changing the World by Alison Lea Sher is a 10 out of 10 star rating from me. If you are a Millennial I highly recommend you read this book, but even if you're not, you should still read it. As a Millennial it will help you to understand everything you're going through, so is every Millennial and even if you get nothing else out of this book (which I highly doubt will happen) to know you're not alone in how you're feeling and what you're going through is amazing. As I was reading this book, I was thinking to myself, "Yup, I feel that way" about 90% of it. Alison brings to light the challenges Millennial's face financially, socially, mentally, and more. She describes how we are constantly feeling like working a 9-5 job is SO unfulfilling and how we are succumbing to society's norms and not expressing our creativity through our life given purpose. Alison uses real situations from people, just like us to explain the feelings and challenges we go through. This is all authentic and raw information. As a Millennial, this will hit home for you. If you're not a Millennial I still recommend you read this to help understand us since we are the "lost generation".
Some of my favorite quotes from the book I think are very relatable:
"Your twenties just may be the most emotionally unstable period in your development"
"Millennials are the most highly educated generation in history. We’re smart enough to see that not only is the system rigged against the average person, it’s also completely unsustainable"
"In the face of an impending apocalypse, purpose is what millennials are searching for."
"Many millennials were told that we could do anything we wanted with our lives, but we weren’t equipped with the appropriate tools and skills. As a result, we’re spending a lot of time searching for a dream that we can bring to fruition."
"I don’t know what I want to do with myself in the long term. Every time I try to pursue a stable identity, I feel like I’m surrendering my creativity and my ideals; I am reducing myself to a commodity for the machine. This isn’t my idea of life lived well. "
"We may have a hard time deciding what we want to do, though the one thing we know for certain is that we’re probably not going to stick to the same job for our entire lives."
This book is available for purchase at Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, and other independent retailers!

Sadly, my health isn't always something that has been a top priority to me. I ate whatever, whenever. I didn't take any vitamins or any type of healthy supplement. I was just going with the daily flow. Over the past year or so, I've become more interested in what I am eating and what is going into my body. Is it really "natural" or "safe"? I never thought to second guess what I was actually digesting and I was not giving my body everything it needed like a vitamin. Vitamins are extremely important for everyone at every stage of life. Just like food, sometimes non-natural and un-safe ingredients can be found in vitamins as well. So today, I'm here to tell you about a company called, GEM. GEM is cofounded by two women and their product is an all natural vitamin with whole ingredients. It actually looks like real food, not just a little pill that you pop into your mouth. It's composed of 12 whole foods and has 15 essential nutrients for women all compressed into one single bite. The whole foods consist of Astaxanthin, chia seeds, chlorella, magnesium, quinoa, date, mushroom, chickpea, pumpkin seeds, spirulina, ashwagandha, and coconut. The 15 essentials consist of thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, biotin, pantothenic acid, vitamin D, omegas, magnesium, stress adaptogen, vitamin K, iron, and antioxidants. I'm sure you've heard of at least 95% of these ingredients. It makes you feel good to actually know what is in your vitamin right?
So a little bit about my first impression of GEM and my overall thoughts on the product. At first I was like, did this company just send me blocks of dirt? When you open the container, it's literally real food not pills and it just happens to look a little bit like dirt but it's NOT! It doesn't smell bad and it actually doesn't taste bad either like you would think. I like that it's actually real food because I can see all the ingredients in my vitamin, it's pretty awesome. As a mom, I need energy and this has helped me so far and has me feeling great. I'm excited to continue to take it and see how it continues to make me feel. As I mentioned, this company is cofounded by two women so let's help women empower women! If you're looking to try a new vitamin or start taking vitamins, give GEM a try!
