Who doesn't love a maxi dress for the Spring & Summer seasons. Just like a jumpsuit, you throw it on and head out the door! Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy! Sometimes I think people get the perception that maxi dresses are just for casual days or literally for just throwing something on. Although they definitely come in handy for those days, they are other ways to wear maxi dresses. You can wear a maxi dress for any occasion and anyway with the right style, shoes, and accessories. Below are three ways to wear three different maxi dresses One for a special occasion, one for a girls day, and one for casual lounging!
This maxi dress is perfect for a special occasion! At first glance without putting it on or adding any accessories, you may not think so but girl, it is. The floral pattern on here is GORGEOUS! It's not too much and it looks very expensive (even though this is not expensive and is from Forever 21). The ruffle hem and ruffle over the boob area adds a very upscale detail to it. It is very low cut so I'm not wearing a bra and the back of the dress is even more gorgeous. It has a lace up back which is so beautiful and intricate. (you definitely can't wear a bra because of this). It is a hi-low dress and it has a very high slit which is super sexy. Now even though the dress already looks expensive, if i just put a pair of flats on with this, it would make it look cheap. So i added a pair of red lace up pumps to bring out the red in the flower and really dress this beauty up! BAM! I could literally wear this to a wedding or a fancy party. Since the dress is low cut, i added a chunky necklace to take away from the bareness of my chest and a pair of long earrings (which you can't see).
A Day/Night Out
So say you're going out with the girls for dinner, or the significant other to the movies. You don't want to be too dressy but you also don't want to be too casual; Plus you want to be COMFORTABLE. Well, a maxi dress can definitely work with the right style and shoes. This floral off the shoulder stretch maxi dress is perfect. It has that stretch material at the top so it doesn't look to dressy. The off the shoulder and the high slit again add some trendy details. When trying to dress up a maxi dress but not over do it, add a wedge! A wedge is the perfect in between shoe of casual and dressy. Although it's hard to see (dang sun), i have a platform wedge on with this dress. I didn't over do it on the jewelry either, a pair of simple earrings a choker since my chest was so bare again.
This dress is completely stretch jersey and the go to for a casual dress. There isn't much dressing up I could really do to it because of the material and style. It comes about calf length and has an overlay on the top. Some may not be a fan of the horizontal stripes but I didn't mind. I chose to pair it with white gladiators to play off the white stripes. This is definitely the dress you just throw on and add some sandals. Complete comfort and yet still some style.
