Tuesday, May 6th, I went on my very first buying trip with the owner of where I do my internship at, Nich Boutique. It was such a great experience and I absolutely loved it! I'm going to give you the day in the life of a buyer, in my perspective.
So I woke up at 4:50 am, to be on the road by 6:00 am. Yes, very early I know. We took the train into NYC, this was my first train ride ever. ( I was kind of nervous, lol).
Once in New York, we took a bus to the first show. There were vendors lined up in rows. There were SO MANY! On the top floor it was all apparel vendors. On the bottom floor, there were accessories, jewelry, and handbags vendors. It's so hard to hold yourself back from buying everything! There are so many different vendors to choose from. We stopped in about 5 or 6 vendors and placed some orders. Each vendor was a different experience. Some vendors let you look through the racks and take the items for you, while at some vendors, the people working would pull out each item and show you!
These were some vendors we stopped at!
Once we were finished visiting all the vendors we wanted to visit at the first show, we headed over to the second show. But before that, we had to make a Starbucks trip :)
Next we headed over to the second show by bus. This show had vendors with a higher price point. We visited each vendor we wanted to and placed orders. It was interesting to see the difference between the two shows. On the right side at this show, were all apparel vendors and then on the left was accessories, handbags, and jewelry vendors.
It was a very exhausting but WONDERFUL day. The experience was great and I loved every minute of it!
